Not every part of your body can be perfected by exercise. Sometimes a little help from the surgeons will do the trick. Liposuction for instance helps with those problematic areas that exercise cannot ‘perfect’.
Liposuction is a surgical operation performed in 3 to 4 hours. It helps with the removal and reduction of fatty deposits in the body. However Liposuction is not to be mistaken as a treatment for obesity, a method for losing weight or a way to escape living a healthy lifestyle. This operation is ideal for people, who are close to achieving their ideal weight and who generally have great skin elasticity. A Liposuction surgery can tighten the skin, but will not correct problems with unpleasant skin excess. In most instances it is performed simultaneously with a tummy tuck or a thigh lift operation.

|
This operation can be performed on various parts of the body such as the thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen, arms and love handles. On men it is usually done on parts like the chest, tummy and love handles. Most surgeons perform this operation under sedation and local anesthetic. The mixture helps reduce pain and assures that the patient is asleep and unaware during the operation. Some surgeons prefer to use spinal anesthetic, so the patient can be awake during the operation and experience no pain. Techniques used for Liposuction are the Modified Tumescent, and the Tumescent. The Modified Tumescent technique uses local anesthesia, to lessen bleeding and assist with pain relief during and after the operation.
|
When you wake up after the operation you will almost be pain free and will be given strong painkillers for the first few days. The Tumescent technique uses a diluted local anesthesia in great volumes, which is injected into the fat. To further assist thinning the fat and minimize bruising, several surgeons inject fluids containing Adrenalin and Lidocaine. After the injected fluid has taken effect the fat is then suctioned out.
| The injected area becomes swollen and firm. Local anesthesia is said to be the safest option since it continues to work for hours, and there is no need for painkillers immediately after the surgery. It will be advisable to drink plenty of fluids after the operation. Walking short distances will help you reduce the pain felt. A blood stained liquid from your incisions may leak onto your clothing so best to keep towels nearby. A bit of swelling and some pain should be expected but is totally normal. Wounds from a Liposuction operation take a minimum of 5 to 7 days to heal; nonetheless this varies form patient to patient. The stitches from the operation will dissolve in time. Bare in mind that healing is a gradual process and should not be rushed. Bruising from Liposuction takes from 10 to 14 days to fade. |

After a good rest of 2 to 3 weeks you may go back to doing normal activities but nothing strenuous. The cost of this ageless operation should be around $2000 to $7500. Click here for before and after pictures.
